HEREMA CEO, Aristofanis Stefatos, was interviewed by journalist George Fintikakis in the context of the 7th Power & Gas Forum (6-7 April 2026), focusing on the acceleration of Greece’s hydrocarbon E&P program.

Mr. Stefatos discussed his participation at two of the world’s leading energy events—CERAWeek and EGYPES, held in Houston and Cairo respectively—and his main takeaways from them:

  • the ubiquitous importance of energy diversification, a key aspect of Greece’s energy strategy developing across three pillars (E&P, CCS, and OWF)
  • the significance of energy collaboration across the East Med to maximize the region’s resources, reflected in the ongoing cooperation with Egypt on CCS
  • the opportunity for Greece to emerge as a key player in the regional energy landscape.

He concluded by highlighting the next steps in the national hydrocarbons program, including an exploration drilling in “Block 2” (NW Ionian Sea) anticipated by Q1 2027, and seismic surveys in the new offshore concessions (South of Crete and South of the Peloponnese) by the end of 2026.
