Greece’s energy transition to a carbon-free economy constitutes both a necessity and a challenge. To accelerate this transition, the Greek Government has announced the development of at least 2GW of offshore wind installations by 2030. HEREMA, the competent authority for the research and designation of areas for Offshore Wind Farms (OWF) and the management of exploration rights according to L. 4964/2022, is responsible for delivering the National OWF Development Programme, that will stipulate country’s medium- and long-term strategic directions and development priorities, among others. Within this framework, HEREMA would like to invite interested investors and developers to meetings to discuss and exchange views and ideas regarding the National OWF Development Programme and associated prospects. The purpose of these meetings is to ensure investors access to share their views and information that could be appropriately utilized to achieve an efficient and sustainable exploitation of offshore wind potential in the Greek seas through a coherent National OWF Development Programme.
