The Hellenic Hydrocarbons and Energy Resources Management Company S.A. (HEREMA) participated for the fourth time at the Egypt Energy Show (EGYPES) that took place in Cairo on 30 March-1 April 2026, under the theme “Transforming energy through collaboration, action and realism.”

HEREMA’s participation followed major developments in the E&P sector of Greece, namely the “Block 2” concession entering the second exploration phase and the ratification of the Lease agreements for new offshore concessions south of the Peloponnese and south of Crete.

During this year’s Egypt Energy Show the HEREMA team, led by CEO Aristofanis Stefatos, welcomed at its Stand guests, investors, potential partners, interested parties and energy professionals. They showcased Greece’s diversified and integrated energy strategy, co-developed and implemented by HEREMA. And elaborated on the country’s multifaceted efforts, raising its potential as an emerging energy player in the Eastern Mediterranean region. 

The HEREMA Leadership Team also contributed to the EGYPES 2026 conferences, where they highlighted Greece’s significant advances across strategic energy sectors. CEO Aristofanis Stefatos joined the discussion on “Redrawing Global Trade Flows” at the Plenary Hall of the Strategic Conference, while Head of Geoscience Dr. Efthimios Tartaras joined the panel session of the Technical Conference dedicated to “Transformative pathways in CCS and CCUS.”

Moreover, the HEREMA team, led by Mr. Stefatos, met with Mahmoud Nagy, Undersecretary and official spokesperson of Egypt’s Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources. The meeting was followed by a workshop, as the two countries continue their cooperation on the critical Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) sector, implementing the relevant MoU signed the previous year.
