Our Head of Geoscience, Efthimios Tartaras, joined a panel of fellow energy experts at the 7th Power & Gas Forum (6-7 April 2026) to discuss the use of CCS technologies to decarbonize the Greek industry.
Dr. Tartaras noted that Greece is at the forefront of CCS-related initiatives across several aspects of this new sector:
- establishing an integrated regulatory framework
- ensuring significant EU funding for both capture and storage projects
- issuing the storage permit for the CO2 Storage Project in Prinos—just the 3rd across the EU
Our Head of Geoscience also highlighted the essential contribution of HEREMA in the above developments and added that the team continues exploring additional storage sites to support the decarbonization, and consequently competitiveness, of the Greek industry.
