The Hellenic Hydrocarbons and Energy Resources Management Company (HEREMA) participated as Greece’s sole representative at CERAWeek 2025, one of most significant energy conferences worldwide, organized in Houston, Texas by S&P Global. Every year, the event gathers leading energy companies, politicians, diplomats and representatives of key industry sectors of the global economy.
During the five days of CERAWeek 2025 (10-14 March), the Conference covered the international energy agenda, with many items pertaining to the Greek energy strategy and targets. More specifically, the HEREMA delegation led by CEO Aristofanis Stefatos, recorded a clear trend towards realistic and differentiated strategies, maximizing all available energy resources to cover contemporary needs that are multiplied by the rapid development of AI technologies and the goal of optimized management of energy consumption.
Consequently, in parallel with investments in RES the market foresees a renewed turn towards hydrocarbons – not just as transition-fuel, but as critical component of a robust and efficient energy mix. This new energy landscape confirms the strategy that HEREMA has drafted and implements during the past five years, in collaboration with the competent Ministry of Environment and Energy. A comprehensive and differentiated strategy utilizing and maximizing the country’s advantages and energy resources, with the aim to achieve both energy transition, as well as energy security and independence.
On the sidelines of CERAWeek 2025, meeting were also held with energy companies already active in the Greek market or interested in entering it, as well as other international investors and vendors involved in HEREMA’s strategic pillars: exploration and production of hydrocarbons, development of offshore wind farms, and management of carbon capture and storage projects.
