The 18-month duration project is entitled “Review of Norwegian Oil and Gas industry’s Transformation during the Energy Transition and its application to Greece” and will involve comprehensive research on the successful transformation of the Norwegian Oil and Gas sector in order to apply techniques and good practices in the Greek energy sector.
In this context, the main purpose is to explore ways for current hydrocarbon activities in Greece to be complemented by “green” energy solutions, with particular emphasis on CO2 capture and storage and offshore wind energy.
Το this end, HEREMA has been awarded a grant for bilateral cooperation with Norway, under the EEA Grants 2014-2021 financial mechanism, funded by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway. The Grants aim to reduce economic and social inequalities and to strengthen bilateral relations between Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway, and the 15 beneficiary countries, including Greece.
